Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Total Fit Physical Therapy, you will:

• Deliver patient-centered therapeutic care by managing and coordinating the treatment plans for an assigned group of patients in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop tailored care plans that emphasize goal achievement and enhance patient engagement throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Perform or oversee therapeutic interventions that facilitate the recovery process and support patients' functional independence both during and after therapy sessions.
• Utilize best practices and clinical knowledge to perform assessments, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards of practice.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitation exercises, therapeutic appliances, and other interventions designed to support rehabilitation efforts beyond therapy sessions.
• Manage caseload priorities, staffing coordination, and maintain clear communication with team members during patient hand-offs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our facility serves a varied patient demographic, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. You will work closely with both adults and pediatric patients to develop individualized rehabilitation programs that respond to their unique needs, thereby enhancing their recovery and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is preferred.
• Must hold a valid Physical Therapy license in New York.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting the position.
• No previous experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for recent graduates eager to launch their careers.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome applications from new graduates, candidates with internship or clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or pediatric therapy may receive preference. Experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and familiarity with therapeutic modalities is also advantageous.
