North Oasis Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time position offers the flexibility of a fully remote work environment while enabling you to make a meaningful impact on the mental health and well-being of our diverse clientele. You will be instrumental in guiding clients through their mental health journeys, performing evaluations, therapy, and developing tailored treatment plans.

Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from a setting that is most comfortable for you, while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. You'll utilize digital platforms for client interaction, meetings, and maintaining electronic health records, ensuring efficient communication and documentation of client progress.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting initial assessments through preliminary interviews, and maintaining detailed documentation from the first consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
\n
• Evaluating clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health comprehensively, utilizing evidence-based practices.
\n
• Creating and implementing tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on their unique needs.
\n
• Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing both traditional and innovative therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Tracking and monitoring clients’ progress on treatment plans, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
\n
• Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including fellow mental health professionals, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers to develop holistic intervention plans.
\n
• Following up with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers regarding client care, especially for those requiring hospital admission.
\n
• Proactively identifying and addressing behaviors that may hinder recovery, and providing guidance and support to families and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse client population that includes individuals facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Clients may come from various backgrounds, and you will utilize a culturally sensitive approach tailored to each individual's unique life experiences and resilience.

Qualifications\n

\n
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficiency in patient management and electronic health record systems, with experience using AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Strong knowledge of mental health, combined with a deep understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, specifically with regard to addiction and recovery.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous work experience in a mental health counseling role, displaying proficiency in therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Experience working within a community health clinic setting is an advantage.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Comprehensive understanding of the effects of prescription medications on mental health.
\n
• Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse populations and their families.
\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
