The Freeman Center for Anxiety, Recovery & Trauma is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to enrich our dedicated team. In this full-time, remote role, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality therapy services to clients from diverse backgrounds and varying mental health needs. As an LPC, your key contributions will include conducting individual, couple, and family therapy sessions, developing tailored treatment plans based on thorough assessments, and maintaining detailed documentation of all client interactions and progress in alignment with industry standards.

Work Environment

This position offers a full-time remote work setting, allowing for flexibility in your schedule while ensuring a strong collaboration with the team. You will have access to a range of digital tools and therapeutic platforms that support efficient documentation, client management, and virtual therapy sessions. While the role is primarily remote, you may occasionally visit our outpatient office in State College for team meetings, professional development sessions, or client consultations, enhancing team cohesion and collaborative practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy services including individual, couple, and family sessions through virtual platforms.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to establish personalized treatment plans based on clients' unique histories, needs, and goals.
• Utilize various evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address and manage clients’ mental health issues.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with legal standards and organizational policies.
• Participate in regular clinical supervision meetings and team discussions to share insights and strategies that improve the quality of care delivered to clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The LPC will engage with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, and adults, who are dealing with various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. The nature of this role requires a commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive care, ensuring that all individuals feel valued, understood, and supported during their therapeutic journey.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• An active and unrestricted state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a therapeutic setting, particularly working with children and families.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and interdisciplinary team members.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while actively contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• A strong commitment to providing inclusive, culturally aware therapeutic services.

Preferred Experience

Experience in trauma-informed therapy and familiarity with telehealth practices will be considered a significant advantage. Candidates with specialized training or certifications in specific therapeutic modalities (such as EMDR or play therapy) will be highly regarded. Additionally, prior experience working within outpatient settings enhancing the client’s pathway toward mental health recovery will strengthen your application.

Compensation and Benefits

The Freeman Center offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
