Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, allowing flexibility to cultivate a healthy work-life balance. However, as part of our community health clinic setup, you will have access to needed resources and collaborative opportunities with multi-disciplinary teams comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals. You will conduct therapy sessions through scheduled appointments, ensuring that each client receives individualized attention according to their specific needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations to identify client needs, establishing effective treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances.
• Provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy.
• Collaborate closely with your clinical team to coordinate care plans, engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, and share insights that support holistic client progress.
• Maintain meticulous clinical records in compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements, utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems efficiently.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in the field of mental health by participating in workshops and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional counseling experience in a clinical environment.
• Strong understanding of ethical guidelines and legal regulations applicable to counseling practice.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, enabling you to build rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative healthcare setting, sharing information and strategies with colleagues.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accurate documentation and streamlined patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in specialized areas such as trauma-informed care, substance abuse counseling, family therapy, or couples counseling would be highly advantageous.
• A background in conducting group therapy sessions and facilitating workshops could enhance your application, though it is not a strict requirement.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and caseload.
