Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to accurately evaluate the mental health needs of patients, leading to tailored treatment plans that cater to their unique situations.
• Deliver short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention services, focused on addressing a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and personal crises.
• Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops that provide insights into personal development, coping strategies, and mental wellness practices.
• Collaborate closely with various hospital departments, engaging with medical teams, patient support services, and community organizations to enhance holistic patient care and service delivery.
• Participate in outreach initiatives, including the organization of mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events designed to educate the community about available mental health resources.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with ethical standards and legal regulations, ensuring the security of patient information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients from various backgrounds who face diverse mental health challenges. This role requires sensitivity to the unique circumstances and experiences of hospital patients, many of whom may be navigating complex emotional and psychological issues. As an integral part of the care team, you will work diligently to ensure that each patient receives the compassionate, evidence-based care they deserve.

Qualifications

• Current active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• Master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
• Proven ability to understand and address the unique mental health challenges faced by patients in a hospital setting.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary medical and support team.
• In-depth knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices and brief therapy models suitable for delivering high-quality care in a hospital counseling environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, adeptly managing a diverse caseload while prioritizing tasks responsibly.

Preferred Experience

Ideally, candidates will have experience working in outpatient or hospital settings, demonstrating knowledge of mental health disorders commonly seen in acute care and community settings. Experience with utilizing telehealth platforms effectively is also highly desirable, as this role hinges on the ability to connect with patients remotely while providing real-time support and guidance.
