Safe Haven Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide specialized mental health support to individuals grappling with trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex dissociative disorders. You will play a vital role in helping our clients navigate their path to healing and resilience.

Work Environment

This role is designed for a telehealth setting, allowing for flexibility while maintaining high standards of care. You will work primarily from your home office, interfacing with patients via secure video sessions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' histories and identify treatment needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, integrating interventions that promote resilience and coping skills.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during individual and group therapy sessions.
• Facilitate healing through structured group therapy discussions, allowing clients to express themselves and learn from shared experiences.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for clients during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation aligned with ethical and legal standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to discuss patient progress and strategies for improvement.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in trauma therapy to enhance treatment effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals affected by trauma, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will provide care that is sensitive to the unique needs and experiences of trauma survivors, creating a safe space where clients feel seen, heard, and validated. The commitment to trauma-informed care is a cornerstone of our practice, enabling us to promote resilience and recovery effectively.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and appropriate licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience, preferably in trauma-focused therapy.
• Strong expertise in trauma-related disorders and an understanding of applicable treatment modalities.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client care.
• The ability to maintain composure in high-stress circumstances, ensuring effective support.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology for clinical documentation and communication.
• A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary therapy team.

Preferred Experience

While 2 years of relevant post-licensure experience is required, candidates with additional qualifications in trauma-focused therapies, such as EMDR or TF-CBT, will be viewed favorably. Experience working in remote therapeutic contexts is a plus, as is familiarity with various treatment modalities for trauma recovery. Candidates demonstrating a strong understanding of the latest research in trauma therapy will also be prioritized.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer:
