Positive Pathways Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality mental health services exclusively to children and adolescents. Work Environment

This role operates within a remote setting, allowing for flexibility and convenience. Utilizing telehealth technology, the Mental Health Therapist will engage with clients and their families through virtual platforms. Our supportive virtual environment fosters teamwork and professional development while maintaining accessibility to our services for families throughout Sacramento, California, and beyond. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required based on patient needs, ensuring we offer adaptable service hours to accommodate our young clients' and their families' schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents, exploring their emotional and behavioral challenges to understand their unique needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific developmental stages of young clients and considering family dynamics.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family therapy, to deliver effective interventions.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions, enhancing caregivers' skills to support a child's growth and resilience.
• Work collaboratively with a team of child psychiatrists and mental health professionals to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care.
• Provide crisis intervention services to families facing urgent mental health emergencies, ensuring immediate support and guidance.
• Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower their involvement in the recovery process.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA and other legal and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations to enhance collaborative planning for patient treatment.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in child and adolescent mental health to continuously improve service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Mental Health Therapist will focus primarily on children and adolescents ranging from ages 5 to 18, addressing a variety of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and more. This role requires a unique ability to engage with younger clients, helping them navigate their emotional landscapes and fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship that encourages open communication.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders along with effective therapeutic techniques suited for young clients.
• Demonstrated experience providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, showcasing a compassionate, engaging, and child-centered approach in all interactions.
• A proven ability to establish rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and technological platforms used for telehealth.
• Capability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment that promotes collaborative decision-making.

Preferred Experience

While two years of experience is required, candidates with specialized training in child and adolescent therapeutic techniques, as well as those who have worked in settings that involve comprehensive case management, will be given preference. Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution is also advantageous in addressing the dynamic needs of our young clientele.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
