Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment focusing on enhancing patient mobility, relieving pain, and maximizing functional independence based on evidence-based practices and individual care plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients to determine their level of functioning, including diagnostic testing of muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities.
• Design and implement individualized therapy programs that include manual exercises, therapeutic modalities, and functional training.
• Oversee the implementation of therapy sessions by physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to established care plans and therapeutic goals.
• Evaluate and recommend modifications for prosthetic and orthotic devices, liaising with physicians as needed.
• Document patient progress openly and accurately, including creating clinical records such as evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and modify treatment plans when necessary.
• Educate patients and their families about therapy techniques and equipment use, fostering independence in care.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in physical therapy.
• Maintain timely submission of clinical and administrative documentation, adhering to company policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on pediatric patients with various conditions that may affect movement and daily functioning. This includes children with developmental delays, orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and other physical disabilities. Your role will be fundamental in helping these young patients navigate their physical challenges, ensuring they achieve their maximum potential through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Strong commitment to clinical excellence, quality care, and patient advocacy.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Motivated, energetic, and open to continuous learning and professional development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting, particularly with pediatric clients.
• Experience in a rehabilitation facility is highly desirable.
• Comfortable using technology and electronic health records to document patient care and manage schedules.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position is competitive, with an annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000.
