Key Responsibilities\n

As a licensed mental health counselor, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Delivering trauma-informed counseling services to a diverse clientele, ensuring each session is tailored to address their unique needs and experiences.

• Initiating and developing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, integrating therapeutic techniques and Christian counseling principles for those who desire it.

• Providing counseling services to clients referred from local churches, nurturing relationships within the community to enhance service delivery.

• Participating in community outreach initiatives to foster partnerships and generate new referral sources, thereby expanding your caseload and impact.

• Coordinating care with other professionals, including social workers and clinical counselors, to ensure comprehensive and holistic support for clients.

• Maintaining accurate client records and timely progress notes within our electronic health record (EHR) system to support ongoing treatment and care.

• Communicating efficiently with the center director regarding scheduling, availability, and any client or organizational needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a varied patient population that includes individuals, couples, and families facing diverse challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Your role as a counselor will be pivotal in supporting clients through these complexities, leveraging both clinical skills and faith-oriented perspectives.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of Biblical counseling principles and proficiency in applying these techniques in therapy.
\n
• Independently licensed in Washington, DC, or completion of residency within 200 hours required.
\n
• Preferably, dual licensure in Virginia or Maryland.
\n
• Completion of EMDR training within 3 months of hire, or willingness to undertake this training.
\n
• Adeptness in various therapeutic modalities and interventions, facilitating an effective therapeutic environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
