Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, adjusting therapeutic techniques to suit diverse environments.

• Implement specific therapeutic interventions aimed at managing anger, developing coping strategies, and improving social skills, while actively reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and aggression.

• Facilitate the enhancement of decision-making skills among youth and their caregivers to effectively manage behavioral challenges, empowering families through evidence-based approaches.
\n
• Collaborate proactively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other relevant professionals to create customized treatment plans and ensure comprehensive care delivery.
\n
• Maintain diligent documentation of therapy sessions and client progress, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering strictly to submission deadlines.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to review cases, share insights, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvements in care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role will be engaging with children aged 3 to 20 years old who are experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Our clients often present with a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges related to their conditions. As a therapist, you will provide critical support to not only the children but also their families as they strive to create a nurturing home environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Arizona is mandatory.
\n
• The candidate must be available for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 4-7 PM, with weekend availability being an added advantage.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes is essential.
\n
• Passing a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting, is a prerequisite for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in providing positive behavior support to children and families.
\n
• At least two years of experience working directly with children diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly beneficial.

• Fluent bilingual skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese are highly desirable, as they allow for better engagement with a diverse population.

Compensation and Benefits\n
