Work Environment

This onsite position is based within a bustling hospital setting, where you will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The work schedule for this role includes hours from 9 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Thursday, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life. Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Physician Assistant at Prime Hospital, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities that are critical to patient care, including:

• Conducting thorough assessments of patients' medical histories and performing comprehensive physical examinations to identify health issues.

• Ordering, interpreting, and acting upon diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies, to develop a complete understanding of a patient's condition.

• Formulating and implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

• Performing medical procedures that fall within your scope of practice, such as suturing, wound care, and catheter placements, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

• Accurately documenting all patient interactions and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) system to ensure seamless communication and continuity of care.

• Providing patient education to guide individuals on disease prevention, treatment options, and effective post-discharge care strategies.

• Participating actively in daily rounds, case discussions, and quality improvement processes to enhance patient outcomes and institutional efficiency.

• Maintaining current licensure and certifications, while engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated with best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will encompass a diverse patient demographic, ranging from acute and chronic cases to preventative care scenarios. Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

• A current and valid Physician Assistant license to practice in the State of New York.

• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

• A valid DEA registration with prescriptive authority in New York.

• Proficient clinical skills with a demonstrated ability in patient assessment, diagnosis, and management.

• Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Epic, is essential for effective patient documentation.

• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to foster a cooperative working environment.

• Flexibility in your schedule to accommodate occasional shift changes, including weekends and evenings as needed.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital, urgent care, or specialty setting will be favored. This experience is valuable in ensuring a smooth transition into our team and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
