Position Overview

Work Environment

This role is primarily remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance with the ability to schedule sessions during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM) and potentially on weekends. As part of our community health clinic, you will collaborate with a network of professionals in mental health care, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment that includes effective communication and support among team members.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual and group therapy sessions, either in-home or via virtual platforms, focusing on the unique needs of children and their families.
• Implementing behavioral interventions that include coping techniques, anger management strategies, and social skills development, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors among youth.
• Working closely with caregivers to enhance their decision-making capabilities in managing behavioral challenges at home.
• Collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team and various professionals to ensure consistent and effective treatment plans that address the individual needs of each child.
• Maintaining comprehensive records by submitting documentation such as treatment plans and progress notes in a timely manner.
• Participating in monthly meetings to provide updates on cases and discuss treatment strategies with colleagues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse group of children aged 3-20, many of whom are facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role is focused on improving their mental health, enabling them to thrive in various settings—be it at home, school, or within their social circles. Recognizing cultural and linguistic diversity is essential, and proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly valued to communicate effectively with clients and families.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
• A solid understanding of behavioral support strategies and proven experience in delivering effective therapy.
• A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle for any necessary in-home sessions.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is two years of relevant experience, applicants with backgrounds in working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) will be given preference. Additional experience in practicing trauma-informed care and familiarity with therapeutic frameworks tailored to children and adolescents are advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
