Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to accurately evaluate the mental health needs of students and formulate individualized treatment plans.

• Provide both short-term and long-term counseling, along with crisis intervention services, to address a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges.

• Facilitate therapy groups and workshops focusing on personal development, emotional regulation, and resilience-building, particularly tailored for the student population.

• Work in collaboration with school staff, parents, and educational stakeholders to ensure cohesive support for students, maximizing effectiveness of intervention strategies.

• Participate in outreach initiatives and preventive programs, encompassing mental health awareness campaigns and workshops designed to educate students and families.

• Keep meticulous, confidential records of all interactions, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards established by the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily engage with students, parents, and educational staff within the Oyster Bay area, addressing a diverse spectrum of mental health concerns. Your role is critical in identifying underlying issues and providing timely interventions that can lead to significant improvements in students' academic and life experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline; a Master's or Doctoral degree is preferred.

• Strong understanding of the psychological, emotional, and developmental challenges faced by students in a school environment.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of individuals, including students, families, and school personnel.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices in therapy as well as brief intervention models suitable for school settings.

• The capacity to navigate a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment while managing a varied caseload effectively.

• Annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience.
