Work Environment

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while maintaining accessibility to our outpatient office when required. The Cognitive Psychiatric Center utilizes advanced communication tools and electronic health record systems to ensure seamless coordination among team members while delivering care to our clients. You will engage in collaborative case discussions and team meetings, enabling you to maintain a robust connection with peers and maximize effective treatment strategies for your clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to coordinate comprehensive mental health treatment plans for clients, ensuring integration with other healthcare services.
• Conduct mental health training sessions for medical, psychiatric, and security staff to enhance understanding and responsiveness to patients' mental health needs.
• Respond to and de-escalate mental health emergencies, utilizing crisis intervention techniques and establishing a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Participate in commitment hearings as required by facility protocols, advocating for the best interests of clients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of clients.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all client interactions, tracking progress and outcomes while adhering to confidentiality regulations.
• Engage in verifying clients' mental health history, including past treatments and medications, to ensure informed care decisions.
• Prepare regular reports on client progress and treatment effectiveness, contributing to the overall evaluation of service delivery.
• Assist nursing and mental health staff with referrals for post-release care, ensuring continuity of support after discharge.

Your work will involve a highly diverse patient population, including individuals dealing with various mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use issues. This diversity requires cultural sensitivity and an open approach to understanding different backgrounds, beliefs, and needs. Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey is essential.
• A minimum of two years of experience in counseling practice, particularly in clinical settings, is mandatory.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse treatment is highly desirable, enabling you to address the complex needs of our diverse client population.

Compensation and Benefits
