Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments to evaluate the severity and characteristics of mood disorder symptoms in clients, leveraging standardized assessment tools and interviews.

• Collaborate with clients to craft personalized treatment plans that are culturally responsive and tailored to their specific needs, preferences, and recovery goals.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ongoing to promote mental health recovery and wellness.

• Regularly educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment modalities, and coping strategies, facilitating better understanding and proactive engagement in the therapeutic process.

• Monitor clients’ progress through regular check-ins and assessments, adjusting treatment plans as needed to address any emerging challenges or changes in condition.

• Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, integrated care, discussing medication management and any adjunctive therapies.

• Stay informed about the latest developments and research in mood disorders to continuously refine therapeutic approaches and contribute to clinical efficacy.

• Document all client interactions meticulously in compliance with legal and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and promoting transparency in the therapeutic relationship.

• Participate actively in case consultations and team meetings, bringing insights from your experience to share with colleagues and foster a learning environment.

• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs, working to de-stigmatize mood disorders while promoting awareness within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will be working primarily with individuals facing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. This role requires an understanding of the complexities of these disorders, paired with a compassionate approach to treatment. Our clients represent a diverse demographic, many of whom may also be undergoing detox efforts. Your ability to build rapport and trust with these individuals will be crucial in facilitating their recovery journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for mood disorders, particularly CBT and DBT, with proven methods underscoring successful patient outcomes.

• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and the ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams.

• Demonstrated experience in a clinical setting, with a strong history of delivering successful treatment for mood disorders.
