Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose mental health conditions in patients ranging from children to adults.
• Provide effective medication management by prescribing appropriate treatments and meticulously monitoring their efficacy through regular follow-up appointments.
• Collaborate closely with primary care providers, social workers, and educational staff to ensure an integrated approach to care that addresses all aspects of a patient's well-being.
• Offer timely crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing emotional distress, implementing strategies that promote immediate safety and long-term recovery.
• Engage in community outreach and educational programs aimed at increasing mental health awareness and reducing stigma associated with seeking help.
• Provide therapeutic support through one-on-one counseling and psychoeducational sessions that empower patients to understand and manage their conditions.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records while adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population that includes children in academic settings, their families, and adults from various cultural backgrounds. Your role will be critical in addressing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders, all while fostering an inclusive environment that respects and understands cultural differences.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialization.
• Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a psychiatric specialty.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and empathetic skills necessary to establish rapport and trust with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a community health center or similar setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
