Work Environment

The position is based in our outpatient clinic, specifically designed to accommodate a diverse patient demographic seeking orthopedic rehabilitation. You will work closely with a group of experienced professionals in a collaborative setting that encourages sharing of knowledge and techniques. The clinic operates from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a structured but dynamic workweek.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients suffering from musculoskeletal injuries and create individualized treatment plans that address their specific needs.
• Supervise and provide guidance to physical therapy assistants and rehabilitation technicians throughout the treatment process.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment protocols as necessary to optimize recovery, ensuring high standards of care.
• Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, including patient intake forms, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Engage in regular communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care and referral management.
• Participate in continuing education and training sessions to stay current with industry standards and advancements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your key focus will be on patients who have undergone surgeries or are receiving rehabilitation for sports injuries, chronic joint pain, and post-operative orthopedic conditions. You will work one-on-one with patients, typically managing a caseload of 1-2 patients per hour, allowing for personalized attention and quality care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current licensing as a Physical Therapist in the State of Virginia is mandatory.
• Certification in CPR through the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in operating physical therapy equipment and conducting functional assessments.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to foster strong rapport with patients and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, candidates with additional specialization in orthopedic physical therapy will be preferred. Experience in outpatient settings and familiarity with documentation systems specific to physical therapy practice is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
