Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will:

• Collaborate closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to manage and treat surgical patients effectively.
• Perform daily rounds to assess patients' progress, write orders, and facilitate hospital admissions and discharges.
• Provide thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative education to ensure patients understand their procedures and recovery processes.
• Assist in the operating room during surgical procedures, including performing minor surgical interventions as necessary.
• Participate in consultations for patients in the Emergency Department or Critical Care Unit, contributing to their surgical management plans.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant and a current state license to practice.
• DEA license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Experience

While experience in surgery and hospital medicine is preferred, we welcome applicants with varying backgrounds. Candidates with at least two years of advanced practice experience specifically in surgical settings, as well as OR/first assist training (laparoscopy and robotic), will have a competitive edge. Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $130,000 to $170,000, commensurate with experience, along with eligibility for performance-based bonuses. Benefits include:
