As a remote position, our Mental Health Therapist will enjoy the flexibility of working from home while engaging in meaningful interactions with patients via telehealth platforms. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ history, presenting issues, and treatment needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery, integrating resilience-building strategies tailored to each patient's unique circumstances.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to address trauma symptoms and promote psychological healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that allow patients to explore their trauma, share their experiences, and adopt effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate with a team of psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, holistic care tailored to each patient's needs.

• Provide critical crisis intervention services, ensuring that patients receive timely support during trauma-related emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to foster awareness and engagement in the healing process.

• Maintain ethical and confidential documentation in accordance with legal standards, ensuring accurate and timely updates within electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Participate actively in case consultations, professional development activities, and team meetings to continually enhance your understanding of trauma-informed care.

• Stay updated with current research and best practices in trauma therapy, integrating new findings and techniques into your clinical work.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The patients you will be working with are primarily adults who have survived traumatic experiences, including those with PTSD, complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders. Many of these individuals are in varying stages of their recovery journey, necessitating a therapist who is not only knowledgeable but also empathetic and adaptable to their unique needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, preferably with a focus on trauma and mental health.

• Demonstrated expertise in trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment approaches, supported by a published agenda of continuing education.
\n
• Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate, non-judgmental care.
\n
• The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially in high-stress situations involving patients in crisis.
\n
• Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems and computer applications necessary for documentation and patient management.
\n
• A collaborative mindset, eager to contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two years of demonstrating expertise in trauma-focused therapies and interventions.

Compensation and Benefits\n
