Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patient histories, identifying individual needs and appropriate treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery and skill-building to enhance resilience and coping mechanisms.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to express emotions, process trauma, and learn effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and integrated care for all patients.

• Provide timely crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, utilizing established protocols to support patients in distress.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, recovery processes, and available resources to empower them in their healing journeys.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Turning Leaf, you will work with a diverse range of individuals, primarily focused on those affected by trauma. This includes individuals with PTSD, complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders seeking therapeutic guidance and support. Your role is essential in helping these individuals regain control over their lives and navigate their paths to recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, preferably with a focus on trauma-informed care.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities and resilience-building methodologies.

• Proven ability to deliver trauma-focused therapies, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach.

• Ability to remain composed and effective during high-stress situations, ensuring client safety and care.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and a familiarity with digital communication tools for teletherapy.

• Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience\n

While 2 years of post-licensure experience are required, candidates with additional experience in trauma therapy or alternative healing techniques, such as mindfulness-based interventions, are highly regarded. Compensation and Benefits\n
