The Prevent Anxiety Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor specializing in trauma-informed care. The position allows you to work from home while connecting with patients who may also be receiving care remotely or in our outpatient office. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients’ histories and tailor treatment approaches that address their specific needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on fostering recovery, building resilience, and promoting overall mental wellness.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to provide effective therapy sessions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, cultivate coping mechanisms, and work towards healing.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for all patients.

• Offer crisis intervention and support in trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate help is available when needed.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and community resources for additional support.
\n
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.

• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development, particularly in trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to ensure the highest quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily be working with patients who have experienced various forms of trauma, including but not limited to physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. This role requires sensitivity to the unique challenges these individuals face, and a commitment to providing compassionate and empathetic support that fosters their journey toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders, therapeutic modalities, and techniques that facilitate recovery.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.

• Adept at managing high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
\n
• Competence with electronic health record (EHR) systems and software applications.
\n
• Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with other relevant experiences are encouraged to apply. Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies is a significant advantage, as is familiarity with EMDR and TF-CBT methods.

Compensation and Benefits\n
