Work Environment

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will work onsite at our modern rehabilitation facility in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical capabilities and limit assessments, developing tailored treatment plans that promote rehabilitation and recovery.
• Execute therapeutic interventions and administer treatment modalities, including exercises designed for muscle re-education, functional training, pain management, and more.
• Guide and supervise patients through active and passive exercises, ensuring correct techniques to prevent injuries and promote optimal recovery.
• Educate patients and their families about care plans and self-management strategies, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the rehabilitation process.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights and treatment updates to enhance care quality and synergy within the practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will be tasked with enhancing the physical capabilities of individuals ranging from young athletes to active older adults, all of whom rely on your expertise to regain mobility and function.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required for this role.
• An active State Physical Therapy license is essential to practice in Florida.
• A solid foundation of at least one year of experience as a Physical Therapist, particularly in a clinical rehabilitation setting, is mandatory.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy is preferred for this position, enhancing clinical knowledge and patient rapport.
• Experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation will be considered an advantage as you will need to navigate a variety of complex cases effectively.
