Vera's Family and Children Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Southampton, New York. In this full-time role, you will be instrumental in delivering specialized mental health care to children and adolescents facing a variety of challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral issues. Work Environment\n

This position offers a flexible remote work environment, allowing you to utilize technology to connect with patients and colleagues while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You will primarily work Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on the needs of our young clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents to identify their needs and develop tailored treatment plans.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions targeting various mental health conditions, tracking progress and adjusting approaches as necessary.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, providing support to parents and caregivers in fostering a nurturing environment at home.
\n
• Engage in crisis intervention, effectively managing acute situations involving young individuals to ensure their safety and well-being.
\n
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other health professionals to create coordinated care plans that encompass all aspects of a patient’s health.
\n
• Educate youth and families about mental health issues, treatment modalities, and available community resources to empower them.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with relevant laws and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Participate in regular team meetings, case discussions, and professional development initiatives to maintain cutting-edge knowledge in child psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents ranging from early childhood through late adolescence. You will work with individuals facing diverse challenges, including emotional and behavioral disorders, helping them navigate their unique circumstances and improve their overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York is required.
\n
• A strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches tailored to young clients.
\n
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor, allowing you to build rapport and trust with children and families.
\n
• Proficient in using EHR systems and comfortable with basic computer applications.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, particularly working with children and adolescents is preferred.

• Experience providing both individual and family therapy is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits\n
