Work Environment

This position is located in Woodbridge, New Jersey, where our therapists work directly in patients' homes, ensuring that therapy is delivered in a comfortable, familiar environment. As a full-time on-site physical therapist, you will actively engage with clients in their living spaces, which allows for tailored therapy regimens that address specific home challenges and goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop personalized treatment plans to prevent disability, relieve pain, and improve mobility and functional abilities based on each client's unique circumstances and medical history.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring they are effectively implementing treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical functions through diagnostic assessments and tests, considering muscle, nerve, joint functionality, and overall performance.
• Assess the home environment to identify potential barriers to rehabilitation and recommend modifications to enhance the client's independence.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and train clients in non-manual exercises to promote recovery and physical health.
• Apply physical treatment techniques such as traction, massage, and various modalities using physical agents.
• Conduct assessments for the fitting and adjustment of prosthetic and orthotic devices, offering recommendations for modifications as necessary.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and collaborate in treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical records that include evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Provide ongoing education and support to clients and their families regarding therapy programs and the use of therapeutic devices.
• Be readily available for real-time guidance to physical therapy assistants during client treatment sessions.
• Complete additional tasks as required to achieve organizational objectives and ensure high-quality therapy services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work primarily with clients looking for rehabilitation services in the home setting, which includes a diverse patient population suffering from orthopedic injuries, post-surgery recovery, chronic pain, and disabilities related to aging or illness. Our patient-centered approach ensures that therapy is adapted to the individual needs, preferences, and goals of each client.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited physical therapy program is required.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in good standing in New Jersey.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, with a preference for those having home care experience.
• Current CPR certification is mandatory.
• A valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance are required for travel to clients' homes.
• A passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care that goes above and beyond standard protocols.

Preferred Experience

• Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques are a plus.
• Experience in working with a diverse patient group, including geriatrics and post-operative clients.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively educate and collaborate with clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits
