Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Directing individualized physical therapy treatments aimed at reducing pain, preventing disability, and restoring maximum function based on each client's capabilities and care plans.
• Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the proper execution of therapy plans while providing guidance and support during treatment sessions.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities through various diagnostic and prognostic assessments of muscles, nerves, joints, and overall physical functionalities.
• Assessing clients' home environments to recommend necessary modifications to enhance their rehabilitation process and independence.
• Delivering prescribed physical therapy services while offering supportive manual therapy techniques to encourage mobility and pain relief.
• Administering specialized interventions such as traction, massage, and other physical modalities, fostering a comprehensive therapy program.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaboratively plan and adjust care strategies for each client, promoting integrated treatment approaches.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Instructing clients and their families on the use and maintenance of therapeutic devices, ensuring they understand their physical therapy programs and goals.
• Regularly observing and reporting client conditions back to the interdisciplinary team for informed adjustments to therapy plans.
• Completing other duties as assigned to help meet company objectives and client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with orthopedic patients, often recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Your role involves engaging with clients of varied backgrounds, emphasizing individualized care that respects their unique circumstances and rehabilitation goals. This position calls for frequent communication with patients and their families to provide education and support, ensuring a holistic approach to recovery.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in an acute or home care setting.
• Current physical therapy licensure in good standing within the state of New Jersey.
• CPR certification that is current and valid.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• A creative thinker who is responsive to the unique needs of clients and capable of making challenging decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

Experience in orthopedic therapy and a background working in a home care environment will be strong assets. Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience.
