Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand the unique experiences of each patient and develop tailored treatment plans that respect their backgrounds and values.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, incorporating a variety of methodologies suitable for individual client circumstances. This may include techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, or solution-focused therapy.

• Facilitate engaging individual, family, and group therapy sessions to support clients' mental health journeys, helping them navigate their challenges and promote their resilience and well-being.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to deliver coordinated care that encompasses the full spectrum of a patient’s mental health needs.

• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, offering immediate support and developing safety plans as needed.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources, ensuring they are well-informed and empowered in their treatment process.

• Maintain detailed, confidential records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.

• Actively engage in case conferences, team meetings, and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance skill sets and cultural competency.

• Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and cultural considerations in mental health therapy to provide informed, relevant care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid professional license (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) in the state of Virginia.

• A solid understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and the principles of cultural competence in therapy.

• Demonstrated experience providing individual and group therapy using inclusive, culturally responsive methods.

• Exceptional crisis intervention skills with the ability to remain calm and focused during challenging situations.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, particularly in building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other relevant technology.

• A strong commitment to ethical guidelines, professional boundaries, and confidentiality.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights and strategies to elevate patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of hands-on experience in a mental health counseling setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
