Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:

• Identifying resources, services, and systems available within the agency to enhance client care.
• Completing comprehensive orientation sessions covering agency policies and procedures while actively engaging with staff.
• Preparing for client sessions by reviewing case notes and conducting research to address specific client needs effectively.
• Participating in small group supervision and training seminars, including the review of video tapes and collaborative research projects.
• Maintaining accurate and thorough client records in both written and electronic formats to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinating visits to partner agencies and facilitating collaborative service delivery as needed.
• Conducting research on best practices to support various projects and assignments as directed by your supervisor.
• Engaging in client consultations and working closely with other agency professionals to develop holistic care plans.
• Writing detailed case notes, client assessments, and evaluations to document progress and inform treatment strategies.
• Collaborating in the creation of individualized treatment plans (ITP) that reflect the unique needs of each client.
• Supporting the treatment team in interpreting psychometric assessments and reporting findings to enhance client care.
• Leading supervision sessions in partnership with the site supervisor, encouraging professional development among peers.
• Attending staff meetings and clinical discussions to stay current on best practices and agency initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The client population you will serve is diverse, encompassing individuals from various backgrounds and age groups, all facing unique mental health challenges. You will work with clients experiencing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Your expertise will play a vital role in promoting their emotional and psychological well-being while striving for positive therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline.
• Current social work licensure in accordance with state regulations (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW).
• No prior history of medical malpractice claims, verified by a third-party service.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong clinical skills with a proven ability to establish rapport and trust with clients, fostering a safe therapeutic environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with colleagues.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in a community health clinic or similar setting is preferred but not mandatory. The ability to demonstrate cultural competence in addressing the diverse needs of clients will be highly valued. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and resources available for mental health practitioners will be advantageous.
