Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Remote Opportunity

Position Overview

Aviara Rehab and Counseling Center is seeking dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselors to join our team in a full-time capacity. This remote role will primarily serve clients in our outpatient psychiatric office based in Huntington Beach, California. As a pivotal member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care, facilitating therapeutic interventions, and developing customized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments to evaluate patient needs and formulate effective treatment plans.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, to deliver engaging and effective therapy sessions for individuals, couples, and families.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups that aim to address common mental health concerns and encourage peer support among participants.
• Work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic patient care.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention services, guiding patients through mental health emergencies with compassion and professionalism.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, empowering them with knowledge about treatment options and available community resources.
• Ensure accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, maintaining electronic health records in our EHR system.
• Actively participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional learning initiatives to stay aligned with best practices in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary client base will encompass individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues, from mood disorders to anxiety disorders and substance abuse. Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) licensure in the state of California.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing tailored treatment approaches.
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-informed therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and technological applications relevant to counseling practices.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience delivering both individual and group therapy in a clinical outpatient setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with diverse client populations and cultural competency in addressing a variety of social and emotional issues will be an asset in this role. Prior experience in crisis intervention and collaborative care models will enhance your effectiveness within our team dynamics.

Compensation and Benefits
