Work Environment\n

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to provide care from the comfort of your home while effectively engaging with patients through our telehealth platform. The work setting operates within a flexible and compassionate framework, designed to accommodate the diverse needs of our clinical team and the patients we serve. We understand that some flexibility in scheduling may be required based on patient needs, but our primary operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and determine appropriate therapeutic approaches.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and improving overall mental health.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to provide effective interventions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that help patients process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and promote healing.

• Coordinate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care for patients, including medication management and holistic support.

• Deliver crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and therapeutic support.

• Educate patients and their families about typical trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to enhance their support systems.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system effectively.

• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities tailored to trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually enhance your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at General Hope Counseling Center, you will work primarily with adults affected by various forms of trauma. Many of our patients present with PTSD, complex trauma histories, and related mental health disorders. Your expertise will empower these individuals to navigate their challenges, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and ultimately rebuild their lives. You will play a vital role in helping patients understand their experiences and foster resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in New York State.

• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating compassion and a non-judgmental approach.

• Ability to remain calm and composure in high-stress situations, fostering a safe environment for patients.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is required, we highly value individuals who have actively engaged in trauma-focused therapies or have additional training in specialized interventions. Compensation and Benefits\n
