Work Environment\n

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized therapy sessions with clients in their homes or via telehealth platforms, ensuring a personalized and engaging therapeutic experience.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions for children and primary caregivers, focusing on enhancing anger management skills, coping mechanisms, and social skills.

• Implement targeted interventions to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.

• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team, including social workers, psychologists, and educators, to develop cohesive treatment plans and strategies that address both behavioral and emotional challenges.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and treatment plans, including intake reports and progress notes, to ensure compliance with organizational policies.

• Participate in monthly team meetings and contribute recommendations for improving service delivery and client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are dealing with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our clientele often exhibits complex emotional and behavioral needs requiring specialized care and support. As a therapist, you will play a crucial role in assisting these youths in navigating their personal challenges while empowering their families with effective coping strategies to better support their loved ones.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend availability considered an asset.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered, insured vehicle are essential for traveling to client homes.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, will be required.
