Work Environment

This role is conducted in a home care setting in West Palm Beach, allowing for personal interaction with patients in the comfort of their residences. You will work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, maintaining a stable and fulfilling work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist with Thriving Journey Therapy, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Directing individualized physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring muscle function, all while maintaining each patient's maximum performance capabilities, as defined in their personalized treatment plan.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess each patient's functional abilities using a variety of diagnostic and prognostic tests focused on muscles, nerves, and joints.
• Implementing manual therapeutic exercises, while also guiding clients through non-manual exercises and functional activities to build their strength and coordination.
• Administering various treatments such as traction and massage, and utilizing specialized physical agents as part of the therapeutic process.
• Assessing, fitting, and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic devices, and making necessary recommendations to physicians for modifications that enhance patient mobility and comfort.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients, which may include individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions. Many patients may face age-related difficulties, requiring specialized therapeutic approaches tailored for the elderly. Understanding these unique challenges will enable you to provide empathetic and effective care that meets the diverse needs of our community. You will work closely with patients to set realistic goals and measure their progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as required to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid and active state license to practice as a Physical Therapist is mandatory.
• Minimum of two years of experience in clinical settings, with a strong focus on orthopedics, geriatrics, or acute care.
• Proficiency in orthopedic assessment methodologies and treatment techniques is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for patient engagement and building rapport.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems will aid in maintaining accurate patient documentation.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
