Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, requiring the Physical Therapist to visit clients' homes in Dulles and the surrounding areas. You will work directly with clients in their everyday environments, allowing for a personalized and contextual approach to therapy. Our team operates Monday through Friday, fostering work-life balance while maintaining a robust support system within a collegial team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct therapy treatments to prevent disability and relieve pain while focusing on enhancing functional abilities and restoring mobility in accordance with established care plans.
• Oversee and coordinate with Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of approved treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical abilities by administering diagnostic tests, assessing muscle strength, joint function, and overall mobility.
• Assess clients' home environments to make necessary modifications that cater to rehabilitation and foster greater independence.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises and instruct clients on non-manual activities aimed at improving their physical functionality.
• Provide treatments such as traction, massage, and the application of physical agents as part of the rehabilitation process.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, recommending enhancements when necessary to meet client needs.
• Collaborate in the development, review, and periodic updating of care plans, ensuring they align with clients' evolving needs.
• Document and report changes in clients' conditions and responses to therapy, working closely with the clinical team and the referring physician.
• Prepare and maintain accurate clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Engage as a key member of the interdisciplinary team by participating in case conferences to discuss multi-faceted treatment approaches for clients.
• Educate clients and their families on the use of physical therapy devices, promoting adherence to the therapy program.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants as required by state regulations, ensuring quality care delivery.
• Complete all clinical documentation and administrative tasks promptly, in compliance with branch policies.
• Maintain open lines of communication with clients' families and other agency personnel to foster a supportive care environment.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed to meet departmental goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work with a diverse patient population, ranging from elderly clients requiring rehabilitation post-surgery to younger individuals recovering from sports injuries. Qualifications

• Must possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
• Holds current PT licensure in good standing within the state of Virginia.
• One year of relevant experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute or home care setting.
• Current CPR certification is mandatory.
• A passionate commitment to clinical excellence and a strong ethical foundation in patient care practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills necessary for engaging with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to be innovative, proactive, and take initiative in providing exceptional patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a similar home care environment is preferred.
• Background in managing cases with complex rehabilitation needs.
• Experience in utilizing modern telehealth technologies for treatment sessions.

Compensation and Benefits
