Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Embodied Mind Counseling P.C, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at fostering patient recovery, including:

• Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments to identify the mental health needs of clients and their families.
• Developing individualized treatment plans that incorporate not only evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques but also client preferences and strengths.
• Utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy tailored to the specific challenges faced by your clients.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and the organization’s standards.
• Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to provide cohesive care and ensure the best outcomes for patients.
• Engaging in regular case consultations and peer review meetings to elevate the standards of care and professional development.
• Educating clients and their families on mental health issues, potential treatment paths, and available community resources.
• Staying current with psychological research and clinical advancements to continually enhance your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on assisting patients who are undergoing detoxification, many of whom are dealing with complex mental health issues alongside substance use disorders. Your empathetic approach will be crucial in building trust and fostering a therapeutic relationship, helping to facilitate their recovery process and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience providing psychotherapy services in a clinical environment, preferably within a detox or outpatient setting.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapies and a compassionate approach to treatment.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills that aid in client assessments and treatment planning.

Preferred Experience
