Key Responsibilities\n

• Psychosocial Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to identify emotional, psychological, and social needs, ensuring assessments are completed in a timely and ethical manner.

• Clinical Intervention: Provide supportive counseling to students and their families, facilitate family conferences, and help navigate challenging decisions such as end-of-life care or patient placements.

• Triage and Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload by identifying high-risk situations and balancing referrals, ensuring effective coordination with case managers for seamless discharge planning.

• Legal and Ethical Compliance: Integrate legal and ethical standards into all clinical activities, including awareness of patient rights and responsibilities related to suspected abuse or neglect.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with organizational policies, including progress notes and the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.

• Training and In-Service Education: Deliver educational sessions for hospital staff on psychosocial issues pertinent to patient care, enhancing team awareness and collaboration.

• Quality Improvement: Engage in initiatives aimed at monitoring and enhancing the quality of care through the analysis of patient outcomes.

• Other Duties: Participate in additional activities such as Social Work Month events, support groups specific to cancer patients, and educational programs for staff and families throughout the year.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The LCSW will primarily support a pediatric population within a school environment, addressing a wide range of psychosocial issues that affect children's wellbeing and educational success. By working collaboratively with the school and parent community, the social worker will play a vital role in advocating for students' mental health and personal development.

Qualifications\n

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate program.

• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a medical or clinical setting, with a preference for experience in cancer care.

• License as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with diverse populations.

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and exceptional customer service behavior.

• Capacity to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to changing needs.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual base salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
