Work Environment\n

This position allows for remote work flexibility while being aligned with the operations of our outpatient office. While the standard work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, additional flexibility may be necessary based on patient demands, ensuring they receive the timely care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Kanza, you will play a vital role in the recovery of your patients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate the emotional and psychological history of patients, leading to tailored therapeutic strategies.

• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and personal empowerment.

• Employing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions that help patients to process traumatic experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to maintain an integrated care approach, ensuring comprehensive support for patients.

• Responding to trauma-related emergencies and providing crisis intervention when necessary, demonstrating an adeptness in handling high-stress situations.

• Educating patients and their families on trauma responses, personalized coping strategies, and available community resources to empower them fully.

• Maintaining precise and confidential documentation compliant with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals grappling with various trauma-related challenges. This includes but is not limited to patients with PTSD, complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders. Qualifications\n

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of Texas.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, emphasizing a solid foundation in mental health counseling.

• A comprehensive understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Demonstrable experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.

Compensation and Benefits\n
