Work Environment\n

This position allows for flexible work arrangements, primarily working remotely while engaging with clients either in their homes or within our outpatient office. As part of our Child Family Treatment Team, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals who share a commitment to fostering therapeutic relationships and effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions with children and adolescents, using evidence-based treatment modalities to support their mental health needs.

• Address behavioral challenges such as anger management issues, social skills deficits, and self-injurious behaviors, fostering coping skills and resilience.
\n
• Work collaboratively with caregivers to enhance their decision-making skills and implement behavioral strategies effectively in the home environment.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to facilitate continuity of care.
\n
• Participate in regular case consultations and professional development meetings to share insights and adjust treatment approaches as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is primarily on children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those with developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). You will be providing therapeutic services that are culturally competent and tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and family you work with. Your role is crucial in bridging communication and therapeutic strategies, especially for bilingual families navigating emotional and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory to practice in the state of Florida.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically between 4 PM and 7 PM, with flexibility for weekend appointments a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits are essential.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required before hiring.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working with children and adolescents, especially those with I/DD or similar developmental challenges.

• Demonstrated ability to implement positive behavior supports and interventions effectively.

• Experience in incorporating family dynamics into therapeutic practice.

Compensation and Benefits\n
