Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting comprehensive initial assessments through telehealth sessions to evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Developing customized treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring each plan aligns with best practices in mental health care.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions via telehealth, employing various therapeutic techniques suited to the client’s unique circumstances.

• Documenting client progress meticulously, tracking treatment outcomes, and adjusting strategies in collaboration with clients to enhance their recovery journey.

• Working closely with a network of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and primary care providers, to ensure comprehensive care and follow-up for clients who may be hospitalized.

• Providing guidance and support to family members of clients, helping them navigate the complexities of mental health challenges while promoting a supportive family environment.

• Maintaining compliance with all ethical and regulatory practice standards in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Wise Recovery Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse range of clients facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Your expertise will be critical in bridging the gaps between mental health and overall wellness, ensuring that each client feels heard and supported during their therapeutic journey.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Oregon.
\n
• Successful completion of national exams, such as the NCE or NCMHCE.
\n
• Strong critical thinking and clinical intuition, along with a sensitivity to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly in using AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing for effective collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
\n
• A strong understanding of addiction disorders and their co-occurring physical and mental health conditions.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices defined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior clinical experience in a mental health setting, particularly in a telehealth context.

• Demonstrable ability to develop treatment plans based on thorough assessments and client input.

• Experience employing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based therapies.

• Familiarity with self-care techniques and practices, with the ability to teach clients effective coping strategies.
