Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand each patient's trauma history and develop individualized treatment strategies.

• Create, implement, and adjust personalized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and patient empowerment.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support patients in their healing process.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that help patients process their experiences, cultivate coping mechanisms, and foster a supportive community.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure holistic, integrated care for each patient.

• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, safeguarding patients during trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available resources to support recovery.

• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, contributing to comprehensive patient histories.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a therapist at New Hope Counseling Services, you will primarily work with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including veterans, survivors of abuse, and those coping with the aftermath of serious accidents or natural disasters. Your expertise will play a crucial role in guiding these patients toward recovery and improved mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist in the state of California.

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on trauma treatment.

• Strong theoretical knowledge of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with practices that promote resilience and recovery.

• Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, nurturing a compassionate and non-judgmental approach with clients.

• Competence in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software for documentation and management.

• Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress situations, showcasing strong crisis management skills.

• Experience in collaborative environments, contributing to interdisciplinary team efforts for improved patient outcomes.
