Key Responsibilities\n

In your role as a Licensed Professional Counselor, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories, enabling the identification of appropriate treatment strategies.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that target trauma recovery and resilience building, ensuring each client receives personalized care.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address trauma symptoms.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their traumas, develop effective coping mechanisms, and promote overall healing.
\n
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, acting swiftly to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources to enhance their understanding and empower recovery.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation that complies with legal and ethical standards, ensuring seamless communication across the care team.

• Engage in case consultations and team meetings to promote continued learning and professional development within trauma-informed care practices.

Qualifications\n

To succeed as a Licensed Professional Counselor at One Step Forward Recovery & Counseling PC, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A current, valid license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, underpinned by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach towards clients.

• The ability to remain composed and effective in high-stress situations.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred:

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience, ideally in trauma-focused therapy practices.

• A self-directed approach to managing caseloads, including a commitment to timely documentation of client notes.
