Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at East Valley Rehab Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans based on comprehensive evaluations of each patient's physical abilities and needs.
• Overseeing and mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants in delivering safe and effective therapeutic interventions.
• Conducting diagnostic assessments, including muscle, nerve, joint tests, and functional ability evaluations, to accurately gauge the patient's condition.
• Administering a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as manual exercises, traction, and massage, to facilitate recovery and enhance physical performance.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive treatment strategies and actively participating in case conferences to enhance patient care.
• Maintaining clear and precise clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Advising patients and their families on the use and care of therapeutic devices, ensuring comprehension and successful implementation of the care plan.
• Engaging in continuous education and training to enhance your skills and stay updated on the best practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be serving a diverse patient population in the Virginia Beach area, including individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or seeking rehabilitation for sports-related injuries. Your role will be vital in assisting patients to regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid and active PT licensure in Virginia, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• Proven ability to engage with patients compassionately, combined with excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and healthcare teams.
• A strong work ethic, adaptability, and commitment to nurturing a positive team environment.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in an acute care or home care setting and familiarity with federal and state regulations governing the field will be preferred. Ideally, candidates will also have at least one year of relevant experience in physical therapy.
