Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations that encompass patient history, specific assessments, and creating personalized treatment recommendations.
• Communicating evaluation findings and treatment plans clearly to patients and their families, ensuring involvement in establishing goals.
• Implementing treatment protocols tailored to each patient's unique needs and monitoring their progress in the evolving healthcare landscape.
• Consulting with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals as necessary and documenting any changes in patient condition that require revisions to their plan of care.
• Managing discharge planning and follow-up care while ensuring all documentation of patient care activities is accurate and timely.
• Meeting productivity expectations while managing time effectively and being punctual for scheduled appointments.
• Participating in community outreach activities and marketing initiatives to promote access to care.
• Contributing to departmental goals and compliance with governmental and accreditation regulations.
• Engaging in ongoing education to support both personal and organizational growth, with opportunities to serve as a clinical instructor for students.
• Championing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on orthopedic patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions affecting their musculoskeletal system. You will work closely with diverse demographics, understanding each patient's unique needs and goals to develop tailored treatment approaches that promote their recovery and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Current certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience

While prior experience is not mandatory, candidates who can demonstrate clinical experience in orthopedic settings or specialized training in physical therapy techniques will be favored.
