Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Positive Change Therapy, you will:

• Conduct thorough evaluations and develop customized treatment plans for each patient, employing a variety of assessment tools to inform your diagnosis and care methodology.
• Engage in hands-on treatments and therapeutic practices that include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities, aiming to relieve pain, improve mobility, and restore functionality.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment sessions accurately within the electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with medical record standards and prompt billing procedures.
• Screen patients for various health risks, such as lymphedema, fall risks, and rehabilitation needs, enabling timely referrals and interventions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, physicians, and nursing staff, discussing patient needs and progress to create a cohesive care plan.
• Take part in departmental education initiatives and contribute to professional presentations or publications that advance our practice and support clinical education for students and interns.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population includes individuals with physical injuries, disabilities, cognitive impairments, and psychosocial challenges. You will be gearing your treatment approaches to cater not just to adults but also to pediatrics when necessary, creating tailored interventions that address developmental, learning, and rehabilitation needs across all age groups.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida.
• A strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Exceptional clinical skills with at least one year of direct patient care experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
• Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques and familiarity with hospital medicine practices.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and engage positively with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences will be seen as advantageous:

• Previous work within both outpatient and inpatient care environments.
• Experience working closely with pediatric patients and familiarity with developmental disabilities.
• Prior involvement in professional development initiatives, including mentoring students or interns.

Compensation and Benefits
