Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and maintain thorough documentation from the first client interaction through to the completion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through interviews and standardized assessments to inform tailored treatment strategies.
\n
• Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices to foster therapeutic engagement and improvement.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, making timely adjustments to the care plan as needed to ensure optimal care outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and social workers to design comprehensive intervention strategies that enhance patient care.
\n
• Engage with psychiatrists to coordinate care for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring seamless transitions and ongoing support.

• Proactively identify and intervene in behaviors that may hinder recovery, utilizing therapeutic techniques to promote resilience.

• Support family members and caregivers, providing resources and strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your expertise will support a diverse range of clients facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, relational issues, and more complex psychological conditions. Our outpatient service model allows you to engage with clients of all ages, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet their specific life circumstances and needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent within New York State.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrable prior experience working as a mental health counselor in an outpatient or clinical setting.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, and proficiency in utilizing these tools for effective case management.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients experiencing a range of physical and emotional health issues, including addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of best practices per the guidelines set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
