Work Environment

You will have the advantage of a structured schedule with flexibility for 30-40 hours each week, which enhances your ability to engage in personal interests and projects outside of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments and develop tailored treatment plans to address the individual needs of clients, including pre-crisis and crisis intervention strategies.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation per regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance and facilitate effective communication within the clinical team.
• Utilize evidence-based screening tools to evaluate client progress and adjust treatment modalities as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement positive behavior support plans, taking into account the diverse backgrounds and challenges of clients.
• Actively engage in licensing and accreditation processes to maintain the highest standards of care and service delivery.
• Serve as a liaison between clients and relevant state agencies, service systems, and community partners to ensure comprehensive support and resources.
• Establish effective communication protocols to fulfill contract standards while advocating for the agency's mission within the community.
• Foster relationships with local, state, and private organizations to promote programs, expand partnerships, and explore funding opportunities.
• Participate in continuous professional development by attending workshops, conferences, and state meetings related to mental health and counseling.
• Embody and promote the values and principles of our agency in everyday interactions and services provided.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to enhance the overall effectiveness of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population that may include individuals struggling with mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds and age groups, emphasizing our need for a counselor who is culturally competent and sensitive to the unique experiences of each person. The role directly impacts client outcomes through compassionate, personalized care and coordinated support efforts.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in a behavioral health field is required.
• Possession of an independent LMHC license issued by the state of New Jersey.
• Proficiency in maintaining clinical records and preparing associated reports, adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary team environments while actively contributing to treatment discussions.
• Effective communication skills to express ideas clearly and persuasively to clients and team members alike.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and provide sound recommendations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in telehealth or remote counseling practices is strongly preferred.
• Previous work in community mental health settings is advantageous.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities related to various mental health disorders.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary in the range of USD 86,000 to 103,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:
