Key Responsibilities\n

• Coordinate with police officers to conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations in the field aimed at understanding the mental health needs of arrestees and determining if a 5150/5585 application for involuntary detention is warranted.

• Provide immediate crisis counseling to non-violent individuals experiencing mental health episodes, employing de-escalation techniques to manage acute distress.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records of all patient interactions, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
\n
• Collaborate with law enforcement, on-scene Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU), hospitals, and psychiatrists to facilitate seamless patient transitions and resource access.
\n
• Participate in training sessions with police staff regarding mental health emergencies, equipping them with effective strategies to de-escalate situations and minimize the use of force.
\n
• Assist in coordinating transportation for patients to mental health clinics and homeless shelters, advocating for the availability of resources as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with diverse populations, including arrestees facing mental health issues and community members seeking support. Your efforts will focus on fostering a sense of safety and well-being among clients by empowering them throughout their recovery journeys. You will be a critical resource in bridging gaps in care for the most vulnerable individuals, especially those experiencing homelessness or acute mental health crises.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field is mandatory.

• Strong skills in prioritization, multitasking, and problem-solving in high-stress situations are essential.

• A current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Empathy Medical Healthcare offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 52,000 to USD 70,000 annually , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
