Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Baystate, you will:

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, assessing their physical conditions and developing comprehensive treatment plans aimed at improving mobility and quality of life.
• Implement a variety of therapeutic modalities such as exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, and advanced equipment to alleviate pain and enhance functional abilities.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, ensuring adjustments to treatment plans are made as necessary based on evolving patient needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitative exercises and the use of assistive devices to promote independence in self-care and mobility.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through workshops, literature review, and engagement in professional communities to remain at the forefront of physical therapy practices.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care coordination and share insights that enhance therapeutic strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will include a wide range of cases, from children to adults recovering from sports-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, post-operative surgeries, and chronic conditions. You will have the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships with patients as you guide them towards achieving their therapeutic goals, focusing on individualized care that addresses their specific challenges and aspirations.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia, with a clean record free of sanctions or disciplinary actions.
• Exceptional skills in manual therapy techniques and a proven ability to design and implement effective exercise programs tailored to each patient's unique needs.
• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically Web PT, for accurate patient documentation and tracking.
• In-depth knowledge of current physical therapy practices, treatments, and evidence-based methodologies.

Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates with previous experience in a rehabilitation setting, particularly those who have worked with diverse patient populations. Additional certifications in specialized therapy modalities or techniques will be considered an asset, as well as a demonstrated commitment to ongoing education.

Compensation and Benefits
