Carmelite Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Huntington, New York. In this full-time, remote role, you will provide specialized mental health care to individuals impacted by trauma, aiming to support their recovery and resilience. Work Environment\n

Our clinic offers a remote work setting that promotes flexibility and balances personal and professional commitments. While you will primarily perform your duties from your home office, you will also engage regularly with our collaborative team of mental health professionals. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient needs to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients’ trauma histories and develop tailored treatment approaches.

• Collaborate with clients to create and implement individualized treatment plans focused on promoting recovery, resilience, and emotional well-being.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, enabling patients to process their trauma, develop healthy coping strategies, and foster healing.

• Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated, holistic care that meets the unique needs of each patient.

• Offer crisis intervention and support, addressing trauma-related emergencies with professionalism and compassion.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available resources for ongoing support.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of patient information.

• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities related to trauma-informed care.

• Stay informed about the latest research, methodologies, and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance your clinical skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role centers on providing care to individuals who are grappling with the effects of trauma, including survivors of abuse, domestic violence, and significant life events. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, each presenting unique challenges and requiring tailored treatment plans that prioritize their specific experiences and recovery goals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Must hold current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities is essential.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient care.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, ensuring the safety and support of clients.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

While 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, we value strong candidates who have demonstrated their commitment to the field of mental health, particularly in trauma-focused therapies and interventions. Experience in community health settings or clinics that specialize in trauma recovery is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
