Work Environment

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at our facility, you will work in the comfort of patients' homes throughout Cypress, Florida. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement individualized physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function in alignment with established plans of care.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring accurate implementation of therapy regimens and adherence to treatment protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients using diagnostic tools to assess muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities, alongside functional abilities.
• Assess home environments to recommend adaptations that aid client rehabilitation and promote independence.
• Administer prescribed physical therapy services, including exercises, manual therapies, traction, and electrotherapy as directed by physician orders.
• Monitor client progress by recording observations and responses to therapy, proactively recommending adjustments to the care plan in collaboration with the client's physician and case manager.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to integrate treatment plans and share insights on client progress, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including clinical records, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
• Guide clients and their families in the use and care of therapy devices, fostering understanding of their therapy programs and promoting active participation in the rehabilitation process.
• Complete functional assessments on-site to review and update care plans, effectively utilizing community resources to better serve clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will serve primarily orthopedic patients requiring rehabilitative services following surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. Our diverse client base includes elderly individuals seeking to maintain their mobility and independence, as well as younger clients rehabilitating from sports injuries or accidents. This variety presents unique challenges and rewards, tailored to individual recovery paths.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy role, preferably with a focus on orthopedics or home care.
• Current state licensure to practice physical therapy in Florida.
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills, with the ability to connect with clients and families on a personal level.
• Knowledge of physical therapy software for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in home healthcare settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with OASIS documentation and home health regulations.
• Experience in supervising therapy assistants and coordinating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
