Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Remote Position

The Primary Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, documenting clients' cases from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
• Perform comprehensive evaluations of clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, employing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
• Design and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring they are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a supportive environment for sharing and self-expression.
• Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve the best possible results.
• Collaborate with other mental health specialists and healthcare providers to develop comprehensive intervention plans that incorporate medical, psychological, and social considerations.
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who are admitted to hospitals to ensure continuity of care.
• Identify barriers to recovery and implement strategies to prevent behaviors that may impede clients’ progress.
• Support family members and primary caregivers by providing education and strategies to manage underlying mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clients will include a diverse array of individuals experiencing various mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to more complex psychological conditions. The clinic serves a wide demographic, and you will have the opportunity to engage with clients of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Understanding the nuanced needs of each client is essential for delivering effective care.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating effective clinical skills and knowledge.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to document client information and treatment plans accurately.
• Experience working with clients dealing with co-occurring disorders, including physical health conditions and addiction.
• A solid understanding of best practices according to the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) guidelines.
• Knowledge of pharmacological interventions and the implications of prescribed medications on mental health.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside strong empathetic interaction capabilities.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, reflecting your qualifications and experience.
