Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' histories and tailor treatment to their unique needs.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in therapy sessions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy to support clients in processing their experiences, developing coping mechanisms, and fostering emotional healing.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic treatment experience for each patient.

• Offer crisis intervention and immediate support in trauma-related situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping strategies while providing resources that support their healing journey.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Actively participate in case consultations and team meetings, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Midwest Counseling Center, you will be working with diverse patients affected by various types of trauma, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma situations, and dissociative disorders. Your role is crucial in helping clients navigate their experiences and progress toward healing, resilience, and improved mental well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.

• Demonstrated proficiency in trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach toward patients.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience preferred, particularly with trauma-focused therapies.

• Experience in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.

• Adeptness in collaborative teamwork involving multidisciplinary approaches to clients’ mental health care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
